Built for pace, comfort and adaptability, its elegantly sculpted High Performance Aluminium frame and full carbon fork are just the start. We chose Shimano's gravel-specific GRX 1x12 gears for their dependable performance and wide range. Newmen Performance Gravel 25 wheels wear 45mm Schwalbe G-One R tyres – and the frame has plenty of space for 50mm, if you choose to upgrade later. Shimano GRX hydraulic disc brakes ensure you can always slow and stop safely, whatever the weather is throwing your way. And mounting points for mudguards, carriers and other accessories make it simple to set things up for any scenario.

Crafted from High Performance Aluminium with a keen eye on detail, it blends the organic aesthetic of a road race bike with the practical functionality of a tourer. Advanced Internal Cable Routing, an integrated seat clamp and Smooth Welding all contribute to its svelte appearance, whilst the rigid carbon fork adds a dose of vibration-reducing comfort to the mix. The Trek Checkpoint ALR 4 Gen 3 is made for riders who want one bike that can take on anything — from daily commutes and fitness rides to gravel routes and light touring. Its 300 Series Alpha Aluminium frame is strong yet lightweight, with internally routed cables for clean lines and protection from dirt. Trek’s modern endurance geometry delivers a stable, confident ride feel on loose gravel and broken roads while keeping comfort high on long days out.

The frame offers clearance for up to 50 mm tyres, giving you freedom to fine-tune grip and comfort for every surface. Integrated rack, mudguard and frame-bag mounts make it easy to turn the Checkpoint into a capable adventure companion for commuting, bikepacking or weekend escapes.

Up front, the full-carbon fork helps smooth out rough terrain and reduces weight while maintaining precise steering. The Shimano CUES U6030 shifters and U8000 rear mech deliver smooth, reliable 11-speed shifting, paired with a 40-tooth chainring and a wide-range 11-50 t cassette for confident climbing and steady cruising.

Braking is handled by Shimano CUES hydraulic discs, giving controlled stopping power in all weather conditions. Rolling on Bontrager Paradigm 23 Tubeless Ready wheels and Girona Pro 700×42 mm tyres, the Checkpoint balances fast rolling with dependable grip thanks to GR puncture protection and an aramid bead construction.

Every detail is built for real-world riding — from the Blendr-compatible Bontrager Elite stem for easy light or computer setup to the comfortable Verse Short Comp saddle designed for endurance comfort. Frame description
To create the Nuroad we took inspiration from our race and cyclocross bikes, then threw a little mountain bike DNA into the mix. There's plenty of clearance for big, grippy and comfortable 45mm tyres – or 40mm if you run mudguards at the same time. There's an integrated seat clamp, exceptionally tidy rack, guard and kickstand mounts, and neat Internal Cable Routing. Thru-axle wheels improve steering accuracy, even on the roughest roads. The full carbon fork isn't just lightweight – it also helps reduce vibration from the road and features lowrider rack mounts. And, with a size range running from XXS to XL, we're confident that pretty much any rider can find their perfect Nuroad.

The frame is made from Trek’s 300 Series Alpha Aluminium, known for being both lightweight and strong. The geometry is tuned for all-day comfort, with a slightly longer wheelbase and slacker angles to help it stay composed on loose terrain. With tyre clearance up to 50 mm, you’ve got the freedom to run wider rubber for added grip and comfort.

Up front, the full carbon fork absorbs vibration and adds mounting points for extra gear, including racks and mudguards. Combined with frame bag mounts and top tube mounts, the Checkpoint ALR 5 is ready for everything from fast gravel commutes to multi-day adventures.

The bike is equipped with SRAM Apex XPLR 12-speed shifting, offering crisp, cable-free performance and a wide 11–44T cassette for conquering varied gradients. Braking is handled by SRAM Apex D1 hydraulic disc brakes, giving reliable stopping power no matter the conditions.
